Our common heritage
Ouidah is a commune and a coastal city in Benin, located 42 kilometers west of Cotonou. The name Ouidah is a variant of Huéda, which was the name of the kingdom to which this city originally belonged. One of the particularities of the city of Ouidah is the Door of No Return. This memorial arch made of concrete and bronze was erected in 1995. he gate commemorates the deportation of millions of captives enslaved during the transatlantic slave trade, towards the overseas colonies. Une des particularités de la ville de Ouidah est la Porte du non-retour. Cet arc mémorial en béton et bronze a été érigé en 1995. La porte commémore la déportation des millions de captifs mis en esclavage pendant la traite négrière, en direction des colonies d'outre-Atlantique.

An interior designer by profession, multi-faceted entrepreneur, this seasoned and passionate businesswoman presents through the Ouidah Lounge, what she calls “her baby”. This is a heart project, at the crossroads, conceived and imagined by a woman of the world who shares here her love for her continent, in a refined and intimate setting where everyone can escape for a moment.
